William Bissett is a well-rounded financial planner with vast experience in entrepreneurship and angel investing. He is the Founder and President of Portus Wealth Advisors, where he collaborates with investors and entrepreneurs to protect previous gains and improve their businesses. William has a background in economics, having studied B.A. Econ at North Carolina State University, and he also studied at Arendell Parrott Academy and The American College.

Before founding Portus Wealth Advisors, William had previously held various leadership positions working for other organizations. He served as the Principal at Charlotte Growth Partners and was a former Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley and AXA Advisors. William is also a former Weath Manager at Pinnacle Advisory Group as well as a former Financial Planning Associate. William is passionate about inspiring and educating startup investors, and he is a former Podcast Host of the Charlotte Angel Connection for the Financial Planning Association.

William's entrepreneurial journey began in 2013, where he founded a Software as a Service (SAAS) business that focused on supporting families to stay organized in the event of a loved one's death. The business, however, came to a halt in 2015 but taught him valuable lessons in success, failure, angel investment, and startups. William has an interest in promoting angel investing and startups in Charlotte, and he acknowledges their roles in society. Financial planning and wealth management careers rarely attract people with startup or angel investing ambitions, but William is unique in that regard.
