Whitney was the Editor in Chief for FIDM's portion of The Odyssey Online. The Odyssey Online has writers who contribute from many universities all over the USA, all of whom write articles about pop culture, politics, current news, etc.  FIDM is a college that was new to the site. I was first appointed as a writer, and then promoted to Editor in Chief after proving that I was a reliable and dedicated team member. Whitney’s job as an EIC was to recruit new team members, edit and give feedback on articles from other writers,  communicate notes from the Managing Editor to my team, as well as contribute 1-2 articles per week. Throughout my time, I recruited 25 writers to my team and helped FIDM's view count go from 3,000 to 10,000 in one month. This opportunity helped aid in growing and improving Whitney’s  writing and leadership skills.

The Odyssey

Whitney worked for Kate Spade New York during the very busy holiday season. She assisted and styled customers, organized stock, experienced a constantly changing environment with new merchandise constantly flowing in, as well as adapted to the influx of customers during the hoilday season. One superb thing about being employed at Kate Spade New York, was having the opportunity to work and learn along side of experienced professionals. Whitney’s store major at the Kate Spade New York Fashion Island location, was a FIDM Merchandise Marketing grad, and Whitney is currently a student at FIDM studying the same thing. Whitney enjoyed seeing her manager use the skills she learned from FIDM in a professional workplace.
