Farmers' Market Manager at Downtown SLO
Whitney Chaney is no longer the Farmers' Market Manager at Downtown SLO. She has recently been appointed as the Director of Community Engagement and Advocacy at Visit SLO CAL, the destination marketing and management organization for San Luis Obispo County.12
Prior to her current role, Whitney served as the Program Director for Downtown SLO for six years, where she oversaw the organization's largest program, the Thursday night Downtown SLO Farmers' Market.1 In this position, she managed all aspects of planning and execution for the market, which celebrated its 40th anniversary under her leadership.1
Whitney has deep roots in San Luis Obispo County and brings extensive experience in community engagement and collaboration.2 Before her tenure at Downtown SLO, she worked for the Sundance Institute in Park City, Utah, as the Volunteer Program Manager for the Sundance Film Festival.1
In her new role at Visit SLO CAL, Whitney will focus on fostering the growth and sustainability of SLO CAL while enhancing the quality of life in the region.2 She is known for her dedication to community involvement and her ability to build partnerships.2
Outside of work, Whitney enjoys attending live music events, snowboarding, running with her dog, and exploring local wineries.2 She is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of community leaders.2
