Graphic Designer
Whitney Badge is a graphic designer based in New York City.2 She received a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design, graduating with honors in Spring 2018.4 Whitney is currently freelancing with Natasha Jen at Pentagram, where she works as a permalancer, meaning she's in the office most days on a full-time schedule.1 She has previously worked with Emily Oberman at Pentagram and has experience working at various studios, both big and small.1
Whitney's creative interests lie in culture and entertainment, with a focus on projects that feel conversational, interactive, and informed by broader contexts.1 Her work can range from brand identities to poster series for architecture summits, title cards for short films, pop-up events, or museum exhibitions.1
Recently, Whitney led a project alongside Natasha Jen, collaborating with Reddit, Inc.3 She is fascinated by the role of semiotics in design2 and values working with kind people who want the best for others and share their knowledge.1
Outside of work, Whitney enjoys activities that don't involve a computer, such as cooking, exercising, refurbishing Craigslist finds, reading for her book club, or watching movies.1 She has converted an extra room in her Brooklyn apartment into an office space, featuring a custom-made workspace with a butcher block counter.1
