Werner Boel

Werner Boel is a senior partner and practice leader for Legal and Compliance at WittKieffer, a prominent executive search firm. With over two decades of experience in international law, health law, business venture consulting, and leadership recruitment, Boel brings a wealth of expertise to his role.12

As the leader of WittKieffer's Legal and Compliance Practice, Boel specializes in recruiting top executives for healthcare, higher education, and not-for-profit organizations. His focus is on building the scope and influence of in-house legal departments by identifying and placing senior legal executives, including general counsel, chief compliance officers, chief risk officers, and law school deans.1

Boel's multicultural background and global experience provide him with a unique perspective in executive search. Prior to joining WittKieffer, Boel worked as an International Legal Coordinator for Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, where he provided immigration advice to Fortune 500 clients. He also served as the Executive Director of The Belgian American Chamber of Commerce in the United States, Inc., promoting overseas business ventures in Belgium and Europe.1

Born and raised in Belgium, Boel obtained most of his formal legal education and training there. He is fluent in English, Dutch, and French, and conversational in German and Italian. This linguistic versatility enhances his ability to serve a diverse range of clients and candidates.1

Boel's educational background includes an LL.M. from the University of Georgia School of Law, as well as education from Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium.23
