Wendy Newcomb

Wendy Newcomb is a highly motivated individual with a diverse background as a Research Scientist, Mathematician, and Seismic Engineer. She recently completed her M.S. in Applied Mathematics and is currently pursuing a M. Eng in Acoustics at Penn State University.

Her research work includes collaborations with the Interdisciplinary Mathematics Institute at USC, focusing on topics such as spherical harmonics and bi-variate barycentric Lagrange interpolations methods. Her expertise lies in high degree band limited functions on a 3D mesh grid, with applications in evaluating gravitational potential and achieving remarkable precision.

Wendy has extensive experience in the field, having worked as a project lead geophysicist in seismic processing and possessing 10 years of expertise in 3D marine seismic processing. She is also familiar with Six Sigma management practices.

Her educational journey includes a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas, a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of South Carolina-Columbia, and ongoing studies in Acoustical Engineering at Penn State University.

Throughout her career, Wendy has been associated with prestigious organizations such as the Georgia Tech Research Institute, where she served as a Research Scientist II. She has also contributed to academia as an Instructor of Mathematics at various institutions and has held roles as a Graduate Student, Teaching Assistant, and Research Assistant at the University of South Carolina. Wendy has also worked in the industry as a Project Lead Geophysicist at Ion Geophysical and General Geophysicist at WESTERNGECO.
