Formerly, Dr. Gelernter was a Progressive activist at Swing Left/Take Action San Diego, where she was actively involved in advocating for progressive causes.

Additionally, she served as the Owner and Research Director at PACE Turf, highlighting her entrepreneurial spirit and leadership capabilities.

At PACE Turf, she also contributed as a retired entomologist and science writer, demonstrating her passion for research and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
