Weiyong Sun is a highly accomplished and respected pharmaceutical industry veteran, with extensive experience in drug development, external scientific affairs, and global business development and licensing. With over 13 years of experience as a successful in-licensing projects developer and business partnership manager, he has built strong and trusted relationships with numerous venture capital firms and biotech companies worldwide. Dr. Sun is well-versed in cardiovascular metabolic and autoimmune disorders and currently serves as the Senior Director for Specialty Medicine Search & Evaluation, Global Business Development at Daiichi Sankyo, Inc, where he is responsible for identifying and developing new CNS, Immunology, and Rare Diseases therapeutic areas. He is a skilled negotiator and communicator, fluent in Japanese, Chinese, and English. Dr. Sun has a rich educational background, including a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Clinical Medicine from Peking University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The University of Tokyo. He has also completed a Stanford Advanced Project Management Certificate Program and an MBA specializing in Accounting, Corporate Finance, Leadership, and Strategy at Columbia University's Business School.
