Weiyi Meng
Weiyi Meng is a distinguished professor and currently serves as the chair of the Computer Science Department at the State University of New York at Binghamton.
With a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Meng has been an integral part of academia since 1992 when he joined the faculty.
His research interests span across various areas such as metasearch engines, Web database integration, Internet-based information retrieval, Web data quality, Web information extraction, sentiment analysis, and database management systems.
Meng is a prolific author with over 150 papers published in top conferences and journals like ACM SIGMOD, VLDB, IEEE ICDE, WWW, KDD, ACM SIGIR, and more, gathering over 6,000 citations on Google Scholar.
He has co-authored three books on database query processing, metasearch engine technology, and deep web query interface understanding and integration.
Apart from his scholarly contributions, Meng has actively participated in over 90 international conferences, either as a committee member or chair, and served on the editorial boards of several journals.
