Wayne Kitching

Wayne Kitching is an electrical engineer with 16 years of experience specializing in network planning and grid integration of embedded generators.

He is highly skilled in using DIgSILENT PowerFactory network analysis software and has extensive experience integrating wind farms, PV facilities, and other generators into the grid.

Wayne's recent projects involved system studies for renewable energy integration in the South African distribution and transmission network, providing him with in-depth knowledge of the Eskom network and expansion plans.

His regional experience includes studies for wind generation integration in the Lesotho network and mining load integration in the Mozambican transmission network.

He also designed a prefabricated substation and managed overhead fiber-optic and substation refurbishment projects.

Wayne has contributed to low voltage asset management projects, township and rural electrification projects, and supported pilot mineral processing plants with his electrical engineering expertise.

His earlier experience includes distribution network planning, LV residential network designs, and demand-side management (DSM).

Wayne Kitching earned his B. Eng/B. Ing in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Stellenbosch University.
