Dr. Waqar Hussain is a prominent figure leading the Operationalizing Human Values in Software (OVIS) group at Monash University, specializing in developing Ethically-Aligned software technology to ensure that values like fairness, trust, privacy, and security are integral to AI and Machine Learning systems.
With a strong background in qualitative research and industrial case studies, Dr. Hussain's research interests span Global Software Engineering, Requirements Change Management, Agile methodologies, and (Global) DevOps.
Dr. Hussain holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Requirements Change Management & Collaborative technologies in Global Software Development from Auckland University of Technology. He also pursued a Master of Information Systems from Linnaeus University, as well as degrees in Software Engineering and Computer Science from International Islamic University, Islamabad, and Arid Agriculture University, respectively.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hussain has held various significant positions, including Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Monash University, Project Advisor and Lecturer at Auckland University of Technology, and Lecturer in Software Engineering at International Islamic University, Islamabad. He has also served as a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Systems Analyst in different organizations.
