Wanda Reisel, born in Curaçao in 1955, made a successful debut with the novel 'Het blauwe uur' in 1988.
Trained as a theater director, Reisel also writes for the stage with works like 'De Vliegenier,' 'Sangria,' and 'De Zindering', which are part of the collection 'Tien Stuks.'
She has frequently contributed short stories to various anthologies and magazines in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Her novels 'Baby Storm' (1996) and 'Een man een man' (2000) were both nominated for the prestigious Libris Literatuurprijs.
The novel 'Witte Liefde' (2004) was shortlisted for the Ako-literatuurprijs and won the Anna Bijns Prize in 2007.
Her tenth novel 'Adam' was published by Atlas Contact in 2019.
Reisel studied Regieopleiding theater at Hogeschool van Amsterdam and also pursued a degree in Geschiedenis (History) with a focus on Keltisch at Universiteit van Amsterdam.
She is currently an author at Uitgeverij Atlas-Contact, having previously worked with Reisel unlimited, uitgeverij Querido, and various other companies.
