Software Development Engineer in Test

- Iteratively cross-browser test sprint work and provide immediate feedback to developers or file bugs; perform integration and user acceptance testing each sprint  
- Increased developer efficiency and decreased re-work by developing a process to sync with devs prior to beginning coding in order to collaboratively define test cases and confirm expected functionality; the process has been adopted by other teams
- Write UI automation tests using Cypress (TypeScript, Mocha), review automation PRs
- Rotate in on our on-call “Fire Chief” role to handle customer escalations, CI build pipeline failures, and field any other out-of-band requests in order to minimize team interruptions

- Considered subject matter expert in our test case management tool, TestRail -- lead adoption of the tool, defined best practices, trained QA teams on its use 
- Maintain repository of 6000 test cases, of which I wrote more than 1000
- Maintain test environments for multiple concurrent releases as well as CI pipeline environments

Software Quality Assurance Engineer I

I’m a front end tester embedded on a Javascript/Java team that develops a responsive web app, utilizing a REST API and both NoSQL and SQL databases. A majority of testing is on UI functionality, but I also verify critical API calls and run queries on the SQL database. We're an Agile development shop that works in two week sprints. I help groom user stories for requirements, turn these tickets into test cases, design cross-browser test plans, and thoroughly test the release. I've found that my communications background and critical thinking skills have given me just the right creative-yet-logical approach to finding all the edge cases in our highly customizable app.

I help drive a fast moving company that champions independent publishers from tiny bloggers to trend setters. Federated Media is innovating the way readers interact with brands through our content marketing while providing a programmatic product line to ensure that every publisher can partake of the value that their voice adds to the internet. 

In my role, I seek out these publishers and bring them into our network. I work as a partner to them, helping with account management and consulting on site performance and social reach.

Publisher Development

Journalists tell stories- stories of people, places, history- stories one would never know existed had the journalist not rooted them out. But today, as we see the traditional platforms of journalism in upheaval, new ways of telling stories are arising in the wake. In my work for Tagwhat, I get to find and tell stories in a multimedia format to people who are standing right where the story took place. This augmented reality smartphone app is finally breaking past the digital divisions created by technology to once again connect people to places and times in a way that has never been done before. 

I'm part of a brilliant team pioneering the future of new media and learning how to best merge the old with the new, the stories with the technology.

I provide multimedia content for Tagwhat, a smartphone app that delivers rich multimedia stories to real-world locations. I pitch story ideas, make contacts, shoot video/photo, conduct interviews and write copy. I also do business development, finding and working with partner publishers to establish their own branded channel within our app.
