Wafula Wanjala

Wafula Wanjala is the CFO - Africa Thermal at ContourGlobal, a prominent player in the Global Energy Sector. In this role, he oversees the Africa finance functions, collaborating with Country CFOs and Plant Directors to meet group performance goals.

Prior to his current position, Wafula was a finance and risk management professional at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he advanced to the role of Manager. During his tenure at PwC, he also led the Rwanda Learning, Education, and Methodology department, where he managed teams delivering financial advisory, risk assurance, and external audit services to corporate clients. His professional experience encompasses Rwanda and Kenya, and he was integral in establishing the PwC Rwanda firm.

Wafula's educational background includes an MBA in Doing Business in Africa from ALU School of Business, CPA (K) in Accounting from Strathmore University, KCSE and O Levels from Mother of Apostles Seminary Eldoret, a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Aberdeen, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Nairobi.

Currently holding the position of CFO Africa - Thermal at ContourGlobal, his past roles include CFO Rwanda at ContourGlobal, Manager at PwC, Senior Associate at PwC, and Audit Assistant at Githongo & Co.
