Wade McMullen is a legal professional with over 15 years of experience in advocating for human rights and social movements worldwide. He currently leads US and global advocacy, litigation, and education teams, serving as the chief counsel on public policy. Wade's expertise lies in the racial and economic justice implications of mass incarceration and immigration policies in the United States.
Apart from his role in public policy, Wade is also involved in advising donors on local and state strategies to bring about transformation within the judiciary system. Additionally, he has an extensive international background in safeguarding activists, human rights defenders, journalists, and civil society organizations against state-sponsored violence and repression through litigation before regional and international human rights courts.
Wade has also contributed to academia by serving as a Law Professor, teaching human rights at Howard University and the University of Virginia law schools. His academic journey includes studying International Human Rights Law at New York University School of Law for his J.D. and earning a B.S. in Business Administration and Leadership Development from the University of Southern California.
