W. Shearer, a leading investment banking and venture capital professional, has extensive transactional experience in the medical technology and healthcare services industry. With a strong focus on raising commercialization stage capital and completing strategic alliance and merger and acquisition transactions, Shearer has completed well over 150 financing or advisory transactions for his clients in healthcare investment banking, private placements, leveraged and structured finance, recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and buy side work.

As the President and CEO of Healthios Capital Markets, LLC, Shearer has raised nearly $400 million in private capital over the past two years and currently has over $250 million in the market for various healthcare clients. Shearer obtained his MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago and his Bachelor's Degree in Government and History from Centre College. He also served as a board member for various emerging growth healthcare companies, including Cylex Inc., ViOptix, Inc, Venetec International, Inc., and Novare Surgical Systems, Inc.
