W. Y. Alice Chan, Ph.D.
Executive Director at the Centre for Civic Religious Literacy
W. Chan is an accomplished educator, researcher, and advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion. With a background in economics, sociology, and education, Chan holds a PhD in Education from McGill University. Chan's primary research interests center on understanding and promoting civic religious literacy and preventing violent extremism through education. Chan is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Centre for Civic Religious Literacy, where he collaborates with experts to promote religious literacy and prevent religious bullying. Previously, Chan has worked on research projects and served as a consultant for organizations such as UNESCO, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and the Hindu American Foundation. Chan has also taught undergraduate courses at McGill University, including Ethics and Religious Culture and Religious Quest.
