Volkan Yilmaz

Volkan Okur YILMAZ is a seasoned professional with a background deeply rooted in the railway industry. Coming from a family of railway workers, with both his father and grandfather retiring from the Turkish State Railway (TCDD), Volkan has built a robust career in this field. He kickstarted his professional journey as a Trackwork design engineer post his university graduation, specializing in railway infrastructure design. Notable projects he worked on include the Marmaray BC1 project, where he focused on the dynamic behavior of railway tracks and conducted noise & vibration analyses. His role evolved to encompass project management, overseeing high-speed lines, tramways, metros, railway rehabilitation projects, funicular systems, and various other railway endeavors from inception to completion, including testing & commissioning. Currently, Volkan serves as the Managing Director (MD) at Yapıray Demiryolu İnşaat Sistemleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., where he directs company strategy, budgeting, and overall business activities.
