As the director of marketing, I updated the company’s brand messaging to attract enterprise customers and gracefully transition away from its history of offering shared hosting and reseller accounts.  I also led product marketing and brand development for an internally-funded initiative to build a managed data platform for Apache Cassandra, called Seastar.

This included the pre-sales phase, estimation techniques, resource planning, budget tracking, team collaboration, client communication, scope and change management, quality control, and project retrospectives upon completion to foster continuous learning and improvement.  I also managed the project management and development teams and was responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, professional development, and annual reviews.

Summit Projects is a full service interactive agency with over 15 years’ experience working with some of the biggest brands throughout North America, Europe and Asia.  We work in the digital space specializing in website design, content management, rich interactive experiences, e-commerce solutions, mobile development and strategic insights.I partnered with the Global Account Director to deliver value for a $2.3 million dollar account, leading all aspects of client initiatives – including scoping and estimation during the pre-sales phase and schedule/risk/change management throughout the project execution phase.  I was responsible for resource planning and budget with teams of 4-8 people comprising programmers, information architects, designers, production staff and QA testers.

Led a team of six business analysts who consult with the firm's attorneys, staff and clients on technology use and benefits.  The Business Solutions team is focused on analyzing business problems and recommending appropriate solutions enabled by technology.  Evaluated the firm’s business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, and led the analysis, design and execution of changes to existing business and organizational processes.  Participated in product evaluations to select appropriate technologies and architectures for the firm.

Led a team of five programmers working on custom in-house application development and systems integration. My group designed and implemented a middle-tier, web service architecture to integrate the firm’s enterprise applications and developed numerous SQL and .NET web applications.

Managed a team of six senior project managers responsible for projects worth $6.2 million annually.  Led the company-wide effort to implement a formal project management methodology, establish a project office and adopt a standard software development lifecycle model.Oversaw the successful implementation of Pacific Edge Software’s ProjectOffice enterprise project portfolio management software.  Developed templates and a training program to promote consistent project management practices.  Developed a framework and metrics for doing task-based estimation in the pre-sales phase, and revised estimates after the initial design.

Gathered and analyzed content and functional requirements for solutions being developed for clients.  Wrote detailed functional specifications – typically consisting of a functional decomposition of the application and wireframe mockups of the user interface.  Created rapid development proof-of-concepts to test real-world application of new technologies.  Designed and conducted usability studies to evaluate and enhance the user experience.Used graphic design skills to communicate and extend our clients' established brand traits into web-based media and user interface elements.  For large projects, this often involved coordination with an outside graphic design or brand development ﬁrm.  Supported the pre-sales process by evaluating client's needs, determining the scope of the project, and developing a work breakdown structure and task-based estimates.

Delivered technical sales training on all Adobe products to subsidiaries, distributors and outsource partners throughout the Asia, Pacific & Latin America region.  I became an Adobe Certified Expert on most of the shipping products and gained in-depth knowledge about all aspects of print and electronic publishing.
