Vina Lustado

Vina Lustado is an accomplished architect, designer, and entrepreneur based in Ojai, California. With over 20 years of experience in high-end corporate architecture, Vina decided to shift her focus towards smaller-scale projects that could make a positive difference. Vina has a professional degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California and an art major from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is the founder and owner of Sol Haus Design, where her philosophy of simplicity, sustainability, and living within one's means is reflected in her designs.

A highlight of Vina's career is her international fellowship in Germany, where she researched ecological and affordable housing. During this time, Vina learned that sustainability must pervade culture and lifestyle. Staying true to her core values, Vina has completed the design and construction of her tiny home on wheels in just 140 square feet, reflecting her philosophy on sustainable living. Since 2013, Vina has lived full-time in her tiny house, which has been featured on national television and in countless publications.

Other significant achievements include being awarded Global 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World in 2015, being a speaker at Yale University in 2017 to talk about sustainability and social entrepreneurship, and having her mobile office SOL POD featured at DWELL on Design LA in 2016.

Vina has been a board member of the Ojai Valley Green Coalition and worked as a Project Manager/Designer at West Wood Construction Design Build, among other roles in the architecture and design industry.
