Highlights
I don't like to be critical, I love Apple with all my heart and 90% of their work is outstanding. But if they will mute it to the point of "Muted Glass", instead "Liquid Glass", it's just a poor design management and such a big loss at a high stake project.
Every time I work on project, there's always design "pre-mortem". If something will go wrong — what? If it will, what's our alternative?
Having design as main "reason" of new iOS is painfully similar to Apple Intelligence as main "reason" of previous iOS. If it's not shipped, it will damage company/profits/share price/etc.
Gladly, Apple have such a huge design "trust credit" from designers and industry, they can swallow another 5 similar problems and there will be die hard fans (like me 🥲).
But Apple need to get their things together and address:
- Privacy Popup nightmare
- Safari's bugs and slowness
- Deeper AI integration into the system (hint: Finder)
- Rethinking of future OS
- Improved basic tools (Notes/Mail/Calendar)
Jack Dorsey will release Bluetooth P2P chat?
We’re so in 2006:
- Never ending wars
- Upcoming recession
- Mature mobile market
- Greed economy
What a ride!
