Vikram Joshi
Vikram Joshi is a seasoned systems software engineer and serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in developing and delivering cutting-edge technologies. He co-founded and currently serves as CTO, Product Boss, and Chairman of Xcalar, Inc., a cloud-scale, next-gen database with an innovative Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for distributed business logic. Prior to Xcalar, Joshi led the development of a revolutionary storage acceleration technology for virtualized and bare metal servers at ioTurbine, which was later acquired by Fusion-io. Additionally, he founded and led PixBlitz Studios, which developed a High Definition video server and rendering technology for broadcast sports and entertainment with strategic partnerships with major broadcasting networks and sports leagues.
Joshi's expertise spans across multiple domains, including Operating systems, Distributed systems, Database design, Storage architecture, Solid-state flash architecture, Multi-threaded algorithms in Shared memory & distributed systems, Computer graphics, Object technology, and Mid-tier app server infrastructure. During his tenure at Fusion-io, he served as Vice President & Chief Technologist and CTO for ioTurbine responsible for driving company's storage and database strategies. Before joining the startup world, he worked as a Programmer at Oracle Corporation, Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, Tata Burroughs, A/P Dow Jones, and Reuters.
Joshi earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in B.E. (Hons.) and M.S. (Hons.) respectively from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India. In his free time, Joshi indulges in Rock Climbing at Yosemite Rocks!!
