Vijaya Chikermane is a social justice expert with over 15 years of experience leading non-profit organizations in areas such as public health, HIV/AIDS, literacy, and the environment. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and studied Political Science at the University of Waterloo in Canada. Chikermane's career achievements include being the former Executive Director of the Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention, where she increased revenue by 36%, started innovative programs, initiated community-based research, and built lasting relationships. Additionally, she was a Knowledge Exchange Consultant at the Ontario Literacy Coalition and a Program Manager at Earth Day Canada. In 2015, she was awarded the Toronto Foundation's Vital People grant to further her leadership skills.
Currently, Chikermane is the Founding Director at 7.10 Stories. She founded this consultancy to offer services to strengthen organizational systems and processes so that people can freely imagine and create solutions for a better world. Chikermane believes that positive change is best achieved when creativity and imagination are layered upon solid foundations and systems.
