Victor Luckerson is a journalist currently working on a book titled Built From the Fire, which delves into the history of Tulsa's Greenwood district, famously known as Black Wall Street, exploring a narrative of black America's struggles for rights, financial stability, and safety over a century.
Before embarking on his book project, Victor was a staff writer for The Ringer and a reporter for Time magazine, where he covered consumer tech, urban policy, and historical topics related to race, including issues such as gentrification fueled by Airbnb, Amazon's impact on local communities, and the deceptive symbols of Confederate monuments.
Additionally, Victor has a background in journalism and history, having pursued a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and History from The University of Alabama. He has held various roles in reputable organizations such as The Ringer, Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and has served as Editor-in-Chief for publications like The Crimson White and Changing Tides.
Currently residing in Tulsa to focus on his book project, Victor also curates a biweekly history newsletter named Run It Back, where he shares his research and insights on historical and urban development issues.
