Varun Banka

Varun Banka is the Co-Founder of Atlan, a collaborative workspace designed for data teams. He has been with Atlan since its inception in January 2018, and the platform has gained traction among over 200 teams across 50 countries, including major clients like Unilever and Mahindra Group. Atlan aims to democratize data access and usage within organizations.12

Before founding Atlan, Varun was also a Co-Founder of SocialCops, a data for good initiative that has worked on significant projects, including India's National Data Platform and various United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) monitoring efforts. His work with SocialCops has been recognized globally, impacting the lives of over a billion people.13

Varun holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering with a Business Minor from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he graduated in 2013. His early career included roles at Barclays Capital and Microsoft, where he gained experience in operations, product technology, and software engineering.13
