Throughout her career, Vanessa has been involved in numerous clinical intervention studies and has developed, evaluated, and analyzed various medical outcomes relevant to patients. She started as a clinical researcher in pediatric rehabilitation, progressed to a senior researcher and research coordinator in orthopedic surgery, and currently leads a successful research department overseeing over 30 clinical studies with an annual output of over 50 scientific publications. Vanessa is passionate about bridging the gap between science and quality of care, evident in her implementation of standardized electronic patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) for quality evaluation and her collaboration with policymakers on performance outcome indicators using PROMs.
Vanessa Scholtes studied at Maastricht University and has held key positions in prestigious organizations such as Joint Research at OLVG, where she serves as a senior researcher and manager. She has previously worked as a post-doc at VU University Medical Center, completed her PhD at VU University Medical Center, and held a research position at the EMGO Institute. Vanessa aims to further contribute to the transformation towards value-based healthcare and is committed to enhancing patient care through evidence-based practices.
