Valerie Vargas, Senior Vice President - Content Creation & Advertising at AT&T
Valerie Vargas is currently the Senior Vice President of Content Creation and Advertising at AT&T, where she is responsible for the strategic development and creative execution of mass, diversity & digital advertising, and social media marketing.1 She also leads retail marketing, overseeing the design of marketing communications and experiences in AT&T stores.1
Vargas has a long history with AT&T, starting from her time at BellSouth Cellular as a Market Research Manager and Manager of Strategic Alliances.1 She was part of the Marketing Merger team that formed Cingular Wireless and served as the Director of National Sponsorships during the brand launch.1 After a five-year stint in the financial services industry at HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation, she returned to the new AT&T in 2007 and has held various leadership roles in the Advertising and Marketing teams.1
Vargas is a graduate of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University ('94) and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law ('97).1 She is married to Jose A. Vargas (SU '93), a Director of IT in AT&T, and they have three children: Isabella 18, Miller 17, and Patton 14.1
