Valerie Hodder
Visual Artist, Fine Arts Instructor
Valerie Hodder is an accomplished visual artist and fine arts educator based in Canada. With years of experience under her belt, she has excelled in her profession with a multi-media acrylic painting specialty that showcases her keen eye for detail and creativity. Armed with a BFA in Education and Studio Painting from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, she has established herself as an arts-in-healthcare advocate and a fine arts instructor at several reputable institutions such as Waterford Hospital, Eastern Health, and various schools including Herdman Collegiate, Grand Falls Academy High, and Riverview Elementary School.
Valerie is a lifelong learner and is attending a workshop in Colorado at the well-respected arts learning institution, Anderson Ranch, to stimulate her personal growth in acrylic painting and garner feedback. She has been an adjudicator for the Arts and Letters Awards, Junior Division, and sat on a committee to choose the winning bid to develop artwork for the Breast Cancer Inquiry, testament to her artistic proficiency and interest in advancing the arts in healthcare within the province.
Through her work, Valerie aims to open new avenues for colleagues and other artists by continuing to expand her knowledge base, expertise, and skillset, particularly in metal clay artistry.
