Valerie Dahiya is a seasoned professional with over 14 years of experience in broker-dealer regulations, having served in various roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and FINRA.
Valerie is currently a Partner at Perkins Coie LLP, where she specializes in advising broker-dealer clients on a wide range of regulatory issues and counsels clients in the blockchain space looking to register and operate Alternative Trading Systems (ATS) or security token exchanges.
Her expertise spans federal securities laws, broker-dealer oversight, short selling regulation, and compliance issues related to regulations such as ATS, NMS, M, SCI, and SHO.
Valerie's tenure at the SEC includes being a Branch Chief in the Office of Trading Practices in the Division of Trading and Markets, where she administered Reg SHO, and leading examinations in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, focusing on various compliance issues.
She holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Seattle University School of Law and a Bachelor's degree from Seattle University.
