Valeria Vera

Valeria Vera is a passionate and experienced deportation defense paralegal and immigration advocate who seeks to become a holistic immigration lawyer. She studied at the University of San Francisco where she earned a Master's degree in Migration Studies and a B.A. in International Studies with a focus on Global Politics and Latin American Studies. She also studied Law and International Relations at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.
Valeria has worked as a Litigation Paralegal at Van Der Hout LLP and Law Office of Robert B. Jobe where she provided legal assistance to immigrants who face deportation proceedings. She also volunteered at the Immigration Center for Women and Children and worked as a tutor at Families and Youth in Transition (SFUSD). Besides, she is deeply committed to advocating for the rights of marginalized groups, with a particular interest in mental health in immigrant populations, and human rights and crimmigration justice.
In her work, Valeria focuses on international and cross-cultural social justice legal and social work with immigrants and LGBT populations, particularly transgender women from Latin America. She is knowledgeable about the struggles that the transgender community faces and is dedicated to fighting for their rights.
