Umair Khan
Entrepreneur and Seed Investor
Umair Khan is a prominent figure in the fields of entrepreneurship and education. He serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, in the College of Letters and Science. In addition to his academic role, he is the founding partner of Mentors Fund, a seed-stage venture capital firm focused on supporting early-stage startups.
Khan has an extensive background in technology and entrepreneurship. He is the founder and chairman of Folio3, a software services company, and also founded SecretBuilders, an education technology platform. His experience includes co-founding Clickmarks, a mobile enterprise software company acquired by Semotus. He has over 20 industry patents, notably from his work at Intel and his graduate research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering.
Khan is actively involved in community initiatives as well; he is a co-founder of OPEN (Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs), which promotes entrepreneurship and leadership within the Pakistani-American business community. He has also been recognized as a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, highlighting his leadership and commitment to social impact.12
