Ugur Sungurtekin

Ugur Sungurtekin is an accomplished professional with a wealth of experience in strategic planning, IT management, IT procurement, technology development, and project management. He has worked in mid to large companies and academic institutions in both Turkey and the USA. Ugur has successfully overseen the implementation of Distance Learning systems, providing support to over 10,000 students and 700+ staff members during the Spring 2020 semester. He managed software development teams, integrating Student Information System software with finance departments, banks, and credit card systems, as well as overseeing intranet website and application development. His expertise spans IT infrastructure, software/database development, ERP systems, and project team management, including proficiency in various operating systems like Windows servers, Linux, and Mac OSX, web-based projects, website development, and e-business management. Ugur has a Bachelor of Science from Middle East Technical University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, NY, and has completed Ph.D. course requirements at Cornell University. Ugur's professional journey includes roles at companies like ARTTEK, GOLDAS, AUER, and AIRFEL, where he guided IT teams in leveraging new technologies. Prior to his corporate roles, he served as a lecturer at Halic University's Computer Engineering department and founded his own computer firm, Utek Bilgi Iletisim. With a background in CAD/CAM software development and 13 years of study in the USA, Ugur has a solid foundation in the field.
