Uchendu Chigbu, an associate professor of land administration at NUST Namibia, is a well-rounded educator with a strong background in land tenure governance across academia and industry. He boasts a PhD and an MSc from Technical University Munich, an MA from the University of Reading, and a BSc from Abia State University. Chigbu is a skilled and experienced consultant, implementer, researcher, and innovator of responsible land tenure governance.
Chigbu has held various leadership roles over the years, such as a member of the steering committee at Global Land Tool Network, co-chair of the Working Group Commission 8.1 (Rural-urban dependency) at FIG - International Federation of Surveyors, and co-chair of the International Training/Research Cluster at Global Land Tool Network, among others. He was also a former program coordinator and research scientist at Technische Universität München, where he worked as a university lecturer and program assistant. Furthermore, Chigbu has industry experience as a probationary surveyor and valuer at Ebiye Kpun & Co, a health-safety-environment officer at Okmas Nigeria (Shell projects), and a lands officer (intern) at Shell.
