Tyler Williams is a seasoned professional in cybersecurity and business development, currently serving as the Partner and National Cybersecurity Leader for the Industrials & Energy Sector at EY (Ernst & Young) since June 2023. Based in Calgary, Alberta, he is focused on enhancing the energy sector's advisory capabilities and developing a robust operational technology (OT) cybersecurity practice across Canada, ensuring secure and resilient operations during the energy transition.1
With a career spanning over 20 years, Tyler has held significant roles in cybersecurity and corporate development. Prior to joining EY, he was the Director of Cyber Security at ATCO, where he managed cybersecurity operations across various sectors, including utilities and renewables. His responsibilities included overseeing cyber defense operations and risk management practices.1
Before ATCO, Tyler worked at Shell in various capacities, including Group Head of Cyber Security and GM of Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestments. His work at Shell involved managing global OT cybersecurity operations and leading corporate development initiatives that resulted in substantial transactions.1
Tyler holds degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as Economics and Econometrics from the University of Victoria. He has also completed several executive programs at prestigious institutions, including Harvard Business School and Stanford University, focusing on energy and venture capital.1
