Ty Lewis

Ty Lewis is currently the City Manager of Paso Robles, California.12 He previously served as the Chief of Police for the Paso Robles Police Department from 2018 to 2021.1 Lewis has worked for the City of Paso Robles since March 31, 2002, starting as a police officer and progressing through roles such as sergeant and commander before becoming police chief.1 In August 2021, he was selected to serve as the new city manager.13 Lewis has a total of 25 years of experience in law enforcement.3

Recently, Lewis has been involved in some controversy. He took a leave of absence in August 2024 due to reported health reasons, specifically heart problems.2 He filed a $2.275 million injury claim against the city, citing a toxic work environment involving Councilman Chris Bausch.1 The city rejected this claim on September 26, 2024.1 After an extended leave, Lewis returned to work as City Manager on November 20, 2024, stating that his health is now in a stable condition.2
