Trevett McCandliss

Trevett McCandliss is a partner and creative director at McCandliss and Campbell, an award-winning art direction team.13 He received his BFA in fine arts from Syracuse University and studied painting at the New York Studio School, as well as graphic design and photography at The School of Visual Arts.1

Together with Nancy Campbell, Trevett forms the design team McCandliss and Campbell, which specializes in innovative typography and conceptually-driven fashion photography for editorial design.12 They are currently creative directors for several publications, including Earnshaw's (a children's fashion magazine) and Footwear Plus (a fashion magazine covering the footwear industry).13

Trevett's roles and achievements include:

• Contributing Creative Director at Wainscot Media, Earnshaw's, Footwear Plus, and MR magazines3
• Vice President of The Society of Publication Designers from 2020-2021, now serving on the advisory board1
• Judge for various design competitions, including the Society of Publication Designers jury in 2018 and 2020, and the Graphis Photography contest in 20201
• Speaker at numerous design conferences and educational institutions1
• Photographer for editorial projects, including surreal and eco-conscious designs4

McCandliss and Campbell have received over 300 design, photography, and illustration awards from prestigious organizations in the field.1 They also teach Type 1, Type 2, and Editorial Design at Kean University.1
