Travis Thomas

Travis Thomas is a senior partner at Baker Botts and a founding member of the firm's Palo Alto office.1 He specializes in intellectual property law, focusing on patent portfolio development, management, and monetization for both large companies and startups.1 Thomas has extensive experience in technology transactions, including patent licensing, IP-related due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, and patent-litigation settlements.1

With a background in electrical engineering, Thomas's expertise covers a wide range of technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, data centers, cloud-based systems, mobile software applications, gaming, digital media, autonomous vehicles, and Internet of Things.1

Thomas has held leadership positions within Baker Botts, serving on the firm's Executive Committee and as the Local Department Chair for the Palo Alto and San Francisco IP Departments.1 He is admitted to practice in California, Texas, and before the USPTO.1
