Chief Executive Officer at Raphah Institute
Travis Claybrooks is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Raphah Institute, a non-profit organization he established in April 2017.14 As a former police officer in Nashville, TN, Claybrooks witnessed firsthand the limitations of government systems in addressing complex social challenges.23 This experience, combined with his role as a pastor, led him to create Raphah Institute to confront root causes of societal harm and promote healing in communities.23
Claybrooks' vision for Raphah Institute focuses on helping marginalized communities access vital resources in areas such as social support, economic opportunity, education, housing, and healthcare.3 Under his leadership, the organization has implemented innovative programs like the Restorative Justice Diversion Program, which offers alternatives for resolving felony cases in juvenile court.3
In addition to his role at Raphah Institute, Claybrooks has served as a District Lay Pastor for the South Central Conference of SDA.4 His work at Raphah Institute combines his law enforcement background with a faith-based approach to address social issues and promote community healing.23
