Travis Bloom

Travis Bloom is the co-founder and former CTO of Pawlicy Advisor, a pet insurance marketplace he helped establish in 2018.12 He graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Business in 2013.12 After graduation, Bloom started his career in General Electric's IT Leadership program before transitioning to the startup world.1

Pawlicy Advisor, under Bloom's technical leadership, grew significantly. The company raised over $7.5 million in venture capital and helped millions of pet parents find suitable insurance plans for their dogs and cats.1 The startup's team expanded from 3 to 10 full-time employees in just five months.1

Bloom's entrepreneurial journey was inspired by personal experience. He and his co-founder, Woody Mawhinney, recognized the challenges pet owners face when selecting insurance plans.5 They created Pawlicy Advisor to simplify this process, offering a platform for comparing different pet insurance options.25

As of January 22, 2024, Bloom announced his departure from Pawlicy Advisor.34 He has joined Coinbase to lead engineering for their crypto advocacy efforts.36 This move aligns with his long-standing interest in cryptocurrencies and their potential for increasing global economic freedom.4

Throughout his career, Bloom has demonstrated a progression from traditional corporate roles to entrepreneurship and now to the cryptocurrency sector, showcasing his versatility in the tech industry.6
