Tosin Osibodu is the founder of Chaka, a Nigerian startup that allows retail investors to buy shares from the NYSE and other foreign stock exchanges.12 He founded Chaka in 2019, which became the first trading startup to receive a digital sub-broker licence in March 2021.12
Recently, five months after Chaka was acquired by Rise, Osibodu left the company and joined Alpaca as the Executive Director of Sales.12 In this new role, he aims to deepen Alpaca's footprint in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Alpaca is a company that develops APIs for trading stocks and crypto, currently powering over 130+ investing services for neobanks and wealthtechs.1
Despite leaving his day-to-day role at Chaka, Osibodu remains a shareholder and will continue to provide advisory support to the company. Eke Urum, the founder of Rise, is now the sole CEO of the merged companies.1
