Tony Karrer is a seasoned technology consultant, fractional CTO, startup advisor, and founder with over 20 years of experience. After completing his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, he taught Computer Science at Loyola Marymount University for seven years. With a valedictorian degree from Loyola Marymount University and Tau Beta Pi fellow, he is known for his pragmatic, metrics-driven approach to help startups achieve success. Tony has worked with over 50 startups, including the leading dating site eHarmony, where he served as the original, part-time CTO and contributed to their $110 million financing in their fourth year. He has also advised established companies, such as JibJab, NAS Insurance, Credit Suisse, Lexis, Nissan, and Xerox, amongst many others.
Tony's extensive information technology experience also includes founding and operating several companies, including TechEmpower, The Host Co., Aggregage, PREEM, and 401Sports. He is also the founder and lead organizer of the LA CTO Forum, the largest group of software CTOs in the United States. Tony is a frequent speaker at industry events and academic settings.
