Tony Cannistra

Tony Cannistra is a dedicated professional committed to connecting people with nature and advocating for the conservation of natural spaces through data-driven approaches.

He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Washington, where his research interests intersected with computer science, which he also studied along with biology at Tufts University.

With a strong educational background, Tony has held various key roles in prestigious organizations, including being a Senior Software Engineer at Gaia GPS, a Data Analyst Intern at Vulcan Inc., and an Outdoor School Instructor at REI.

Throughout his career, Tony has also been involved in several leadership and educational positions, such as a Mentor Naturalist at Aspen Center For Environmental Studies and a Research Assistant at Tufts University Computational Biology Research Group.

His diverse experiences range from being a Co-Founder and Developer at CollegiateText to serving as an Executive Board Member and Transportation Coordinator at Tufts University Leonard Carmichael Society.
