Tomas Cirhan

Tomas Cirhan is a dedicated PhD student in Political Sciences at Leiden University in the Netherlands, specializing in new anti-establishment parties, post-communist party systems, and the rise of populist politics in central-eastern Europe.

His doctoral research focuses on the success of the Czech anti-establishment ANO party, utilizing a party organizational approach to analyze the factors contributing to its consistent electoral victories.

Previously, Tomas obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Globalization (Politics, Sociology) with commendation from the University of Aberdeen, UK. His master's dissertation explored the integration differences among Czech and Polish migrants in the UK.

His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) in Applied Social Sciences from Robert Gordon University, UK. His undergraduate dissertation centered on standardization in workplaces and the application of McDonaldization theory.

Apart from his academic pursuits, Tomas has gained valuable professional experience. He held roles such as Accommodation Service Executive for the Czech market at Booking.com, Postgraduate Tutor at the University of Aberdeen, Sales Consultant at Travelex, and Duty Manager at The Restaurant Group plc.
