Tom Schutyser

Tom Schutyser is a seasoned entrepreneur, business advisor and investor, with extensive experience in international business development. He is the founder and CEO of Globe & Seas, a boutique advisory firm specializing in providing business, financial and transaction advice to clients in new technologies, creative industries, cleantech and real estate. Tom has worked with both startups and established firms, in Europe, the US and Asia, and is fluent in English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and German.

Tom is also an angel investor and advisor at Seedlink, a software technology start-up. He was President of the Executive Committee and Board member of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and has gained experience in different cultures, environments and collaborations with various professions and experts. He is versatile in geographic expansion, emerging markets, entry strategies, business diversification and market research.

Aside from his business pursuits, Tom is also an accomplished documentary photographer, and published his book "CARAVANSERAI - Traces, Places, Dialogue in the Middle East" in 2012, a result of his travels and research in the Middle East and Asia. He also completed a U.N. tour in Africa. Tom has a Master's degree in Business Economics and Strategy from the University of Leuven in Belgium and Universidad de Barcelona in Spain. He lives in Portland with his wife, Drieke, and their two children.
