ReGEDiM is working closely together with the Department of Emergency Medicine of the university hospital (Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel). Within ReGEDiM a subdivision is made into an emergency medicine section and a disaster medicine section. The mission of the researchgroup is to perform high level scientific research in the field of disaster medicine.

Work is focused on two topics:
-Education and training in disaster medicine
-Research on disaster medical response management

The work on the new version of ISEE Hospital and the continuous work to make it better, together with the people of Counterpoint, is one of the more visual outputs (www.iseehospital.com)

Research Group on Emergency and Disaster Medicine (ReGEDiM)

Team Member

Supervising residents working in the emergency departement on a day-to-day basis. Confronting them with the usual pitfalls/redflags and by doing so guiding them toward exellence.
Responsible for the Trauma Care unit with annually +25000 visits, from the sprained ankle to the trauma team approach in the critical care areas.
Implementing simulation based education and performing analysis of the obtained data.
Working in the prehospital area as a first responder and on-call as medical incident commander in case of MCI.
