Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer Contract

Ruby on Rails application that provides compliance management for Automated External Defibrillators.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Provided full stack Ruby on Rails development support for the application.
•	Integrated several 3rd party components for notifying and reporting at a regular basis to specified personnel.
•	The web interface consists of a sophisticated role based security model, reporting, notifications via email, SMA, and Mobile Push, The integration of some of some of these tools increased productivity reaction time by more than 10%.
•	Developed iPhone and Android mobile applications to support manual inspections of the AEDs and interfaced with the main Web application via a REST API. They made inspections more convenience and increased accuracy by recording location along with the results.

ZOLL Medical Corporation

Crowdsourcing marketplace for Pay per Click advertising campaigns.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Full stack developer on the original design, utilizing Ruby on Rails.
•	Integrated both Google AdWords and Bing APIs into the application.
•	Developed a Ruby client Gem for the Bing API used in application.
•	Built interface to a 3rd part call-tracking provider for tracking conversions.
•	Developed a Ruby client Gem for Paymentech’s payment gateway.
•	Integrated with Google Analytics to retrieve statics for campaign performance,
•	Worked on various algorithms to balance budgets across ad networks based on conversion rate.

Trada, Inc

Testing, change management, and project management tools for the ERP industry.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Participated on the Web Testing Tool Team that developed testing tools for PeopleSoft and Oracle Forms.
•	Used Java’s JNI to get access to the Oracle Form Applet.
•	Developed a testing framework using an open source IDE for .Net that hooked into Internet Explorer’s HTML DOM to record events in JavaScript for playback.
•	Earned a patent for the unique way we used the ERP system’s Meta data for record and playback.

Newmerix

Developed the internet standard XMPP (XML Presence Protocol) and provided commercial servers that supports the XMPP and also provides gateways to several other Instant Messaging protocols.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Helped develop a Window’s Messaging Client that supported a plugin interface to have the ability to add custom messaging components written C++ and ActiveX.
•	As a member of the server team, I assisted in the development of Yahoo and AOL messaging gateways.

Multimedia asset management system that scheduled the conversion of files on video CODECS distributed on the internet. It included a web interface to manage the assets.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Developed resource management and delivering the files to the appropriate server for conversion.
•	Built with Microsoft technologies, that included Visual C++, JavaScript, SQL Server, and Microsoft’s Instant Messenger.

Cohere Networks, Inc

Internet Explorer Browser Band that help manage personalize content to the browser. It served as dashboard that could be customized for different verticals such as universities.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Provided integration with the browser and the detection algorithms for specific sites and content, such as recording an Expedia reservation in your online calendar. Visual C++ and Microsoft COM were the technologies used.

Project was a system for a Consortium of Credit Unions for the purpose of online banking. It consisted of brandable web front end and a pluggable communication backend to banking computers.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Developed a common interface to backend banking systems that utilized Microsoft COM and MSMQ technologies.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Started with company as a Hardware Test Engineer desiging test fixtures to test teleconferencing equipment hardware.
•	Team lead for a Windows C based conferencing UI used by the FAA for airline emergencies.
•	Responsible for passing ISDN Layer 1 European and Australian telephony regulatory agencies. Developed the firmware in 8051 assembler.
•	Participated on a design team building a new DSP based multimedia conference bridge. It was PC based board the hosted a 68020 and DSPs for running conferencing algorithms. The firmware was written C.

Confertech

Hardware / Software Engineer 

Manufacturer of turnkey inline photovoltaic solar panel manufacturing plants.

My Responsibilities included:
•	Designed both hardware and firmware for a Automatic RF impedance matching network to tune plasma enhanced vacuum deposition chamber for maximum power transfer.
•	Developed automation software to control many of the factory’s equipment from temperature controllers, conveyors, to automated solar panel test stations.
•	Integrated backend control to the front end monitoring stations.
