Tom Gattis is an accomplished individual with a strong educational background in Industrial Design, holding a BSID from Auburn University and an MSeD in Model Building, Industrial Technology, and Design Education from Bemidji State University.
With a wealth of professional experience, Tom has held various key roles in different organizations. He currently serves as a Partner and Chief Design Officer at Spyder Works Inc. Previously, he was a Professor at Columbus College of Art & Design and Designer in Residence at Spyder Works Inc. Tom has also excelled as the Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Columbus College of Art & Design and as the Director & C.O.O. at Aether Global Learning.
Tom Gattis has been an active member of the design community, having served as a Board Member at SHiFT Design Camp and as a Senior Design Consultant at Blue Point Strategies, LLC. His contributions also extend to academic leadership, where he held positions such as Dean of the School of Design Arts and Chair of Industrial Design at Columbus College of Art & Design. Furthermore, he has shared his expertise as the Chair of Furniture Design and Associate VP at SCAD, both in Hong Kong and the USA.
With a global perspective, Tom Gattis has also been involved in international education, having been a former Associate Professor at Finlandia University - Suomi International College of Art and Design. His diverse experience in academia, industry, and design consultancy highlights his well-rounded skill set and leadership capabilities.
