Tom Chorske
American former professional ice hockey player
Thomas Patrick Chorske, born on September 18, 1966, is an American former professional ice hockey player and current business executive. He is notably recognized for his career in the National Hockey League (NHL), where he played as a forward for eleven seasons. Chorske was drafted 16th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft after an impressive high school career and subsequent collegiate play at the University of Minnesota. His NHL career included stints with several teams, including the Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Washington Capitals, and Pittsburgh Penguins, accumulating a total of 596 games played and 237 points (115 goals and 122 assists) before retiring in 2002.1
After his playing career, Chorske transitioned into broadcasting, serving as a hockey analyst for Fox Sports North and covering NHL games for the Minnesota Wild as well as NCAA hockey for the University of Minnesota. He also held the position of color commentator for New Jersey Devils radio broadcasts for one season in 2006.1 In addition to his media roles, he was appointed the general manager of the St. Cloud Blizzard in the North American Hockey League in 2020.
