Tom Allen

Tom Allen is a professional explorer, author, and long-time traveler based in Armenia with an extensive background in adventure travel and tourism. With a BSc Hons in Computer Science from the University of Exeter and additional study at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, Allen's experience and education have helped him to explore and document the South Caucasus region.

Allen's most notable achievement is the inception of the Transcaucasian Trail, a 3,000km-long hiking trail that follows the Greater and Lesser Caucasus mountains through Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. Allen leads countless hiking, trekking, and bikepacking expeditions across the region, using his vast knowledge to co-author the Bradt Travel Guide for Armenia and founding the website CyclingArmenia.com.

Having served as the President of the Transcaucasian Trail Tourism Support NGO and as the Explorer-in-Chief at the Transcaucasian Trail Association, Allen has the professional expertise necessary for leading and organizing adventure travel and tourism initiatives. Allen's passion for nature and adventure, combined with his experience, education, and leadership skills, make him a prominent figure in the adventure travel and tourism industry.
