Tolu Adeyemi

Tolu Adeyemi is an accomplished professional specializing in environment, migration, and climate change, with a notable background in international health and safety management, integrated environmental assessment, border management, displacement tracking, and program planning. At present, Tolu plays a pivotal role in the Immigration and Border Management (IBM) division of the International Organization for Migration (IOM-UN Migration), focusing on a project funded by the Government of Germany.

Tolu's current responsibilities involve enhancing the operational structure of the Migration and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) architecture at key Nigerian Land border control posts in the North, specifically within the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Kebbi and Katsina state commands and their respective border crossing points. With over 4 years of expertise, Tolu Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to the field, excelling in coordinating international initiatives and facilitating impactful programs.

Education has been a cornerstone of Tolu's journey, having pursued diverse qualifications including a Certificate of Participation in Building a Better Response from the Humanitarian Academy at Harvard, a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Ekiti State University, an International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health from the National Examination Board of Occupational Safety (NEBOSH), and Graduate School of Governance in Migration Studies from Maastricht University.

Throughout Tolu Adeyemi's career, they have held various significant roles, serving as a Program Assistant for MIDAS, Programme Assistant for TSI, and Data Analyst at IOM-UN Migration. Prior to their tenure at IOM, Tolu showcased their leadership skills as the Chief Executive Officer and later as the Executive Managing Director at Emerald Spectrum Planet Limited (ESPL). Additionally, Tolu garnered valuable experience as a Project Manager at Vern Group, Effluent Treatment Plant Supervisor at Zenith Water Project, and Effluent Treatment Plant Analyst at Nigerian Bottling Company.
